Toy Story Mania!

The very first movie (besides Barney) that Carter was ever interested in was Toy Story...the original...on VHS...from when Uncle Dane was little. Carter got Buzz Lightyear from Santa, and we gave him Woody as a reward for pottytraining in January. We rented Toy Story 2 one weekend this winter and got him both on DVD for his birthday. He occasionally asks to watch "The one with the guy - he has a beard" or "the one with Bullseye." SO, the Toy Story mania in the last few months anticipating the release of Toy Story 3 has been right up Carter's alley! He loves looking at all the new toys in the stores. And, we've been making a big deal out of going to see the movie the weekend it came out - especially because the following weekend would be consumed with the new baby brother. So, on Saturday evening, Carter put on his new Toy Story t-shirt and off we went to his very first movie theater experience. He was so excited - and honestly, so were we :) Evan and I would lay in bed at night and say "I'm really excited to take him to see Toy Story!" Carter refused to use a booster seat, and the regular seat swallowed him right up - so he sat on Daddy's lap the entire show (Mommy no longer has a lap!). He didn't make a peep, except for "I want my Slurpee, please." I'm not sure if he really followed the story or understood the humor. But he sure did soak it all in! It was a really fun evening together.
