We had a very relaxed July 4th weekend. On Friday, Auntie Lisa, Katie and Carly came over for dinner and a bonfire...complete with s'mores and sparklers. We spent July 3rd at the lake with the Crossett Family. Carter had a blast playing on the beach with his buddies, Jack and Owen. And they also had a little tubing adventure! Carter was VERY tired and fell asleep by the time we left their driveway. We headed home and took a much-needed family nap. After a very refreshing evening nap, we went to Milford for some fireworks. I told Carter that my favorites ones were GOLD and HUGE. He decided that they look like hair, and that his favorite fireworks were the PINK ones...he'd say "Oooohhh...There's the pink ones I LOVE best!" Blake was completely unamused (as expected) and slept during the entire fireworks show. I have a feeling that next year will be much different :) On July 4th, we went to visit with Auntie Karen, Uncle Cliff, and Holly. Carter discovered that his new sprinkler can be used for a game that he and Daddy call "Water Baseball." The sprinker shoots the ball up and Carter whacks it across the yard!

Blake was wide-awake for the bonfire - I think he was just hoping for a taste of s'mores!
Carter said that the bonfire was "So Hot!"
Who needs marshmallows and graham crackers when you can just eat the chocolate?

Carter's first experience with sparklers. We kept telling him to make a circle with it...so he walked around the backyard in a giant circle. He misunderstood but had a great time anyway!
What a sweet little boy
We took a trip to the bakery after a picnic lunch at the park/playground and Carter picked out this fantastic cupcake. Unfortunately, the frosting had an almond taste to it and neither of us liked it!
