We were in Ann Arbor today for The Big House Big Heart 5K (pictures to be posted later). We had a great time - but just before we left for home, we decided to stop in one last bookstore to see if they had any good shirts for Blake. On our way into a store, Carter tripped on some very uneven flooring, fell, and hit his eyebrow on the window display platform. We rushed him to the U of M Hospital where he received 2 stitches and glue to hold the wound shut. Originally, the doctors thought they would have to do 5 to 9 stitches. Once they started irrigating, they realized that the scar tissue from his last eyebrow injury (in early June) protected a large part of the skin from breaking and he suffered only a puncture-like abrasion over his existing scar. They stitched the other portion, and put glue across the entire wound to protect it from potentially bursting open, and to help it heal better. Carter was SO good during his repair... He cried, but it was a very controlled cry :) He wanted "to be done" but settled down a bit when we talked about how he was at the hospital that the Michigan football players come to when they get hurt, and when we discussed his baby brother, and when we talked about Disney World. My poor little boy... He just wanted to look at the pompons in the window display!
In this photo, you can see the uneven flooring that he tripped on
The trauma... Poor Carter :(
