2 Months Old!

How does this happen so quickly??? Our baby is already 2 months old - he is starting to talk, and he is very generous with his smiles! He enjoys looking at windows and the canvas squares that Carter painted for his bedroom. He is a snuggler, but is perfectly content entertaining himself for small periods of time (which is a necessity when there's a 3 year old big brother in the picture). Blake loves taking baths and kicks his feet the entire time, with a big smile on his face. I said tonight that he's getting banned from taking baths on the bathroom counter...he gets water all over the floor and mirror from his excessive kicking! We have been blessed with A SLEEPER this time... He isn't perfect, but Blake is TOTALLY different from Carter in the sleep department. He's sleeping in his crib for the first time tonight. I'm sad... We're not letting this one sleep in our bed like we did with Carter, so it's the end of an era for us. BUT, the beginning of TONS of fun as he becomes more social and playful :)

3 New Videos!

I posted 3 new videos of the boys on YouTube:

This and That...

Just a few random photos to share...

Our friends, Neil and Emily, had a baby girl - Ella Renee - on August 11th and I was lucky enough to take a few photos of her. Congratulations to Neil and Emily, and of course, big brothers Jack and Owen!

So sweet :)

I love this blue wall in photos - it's a local pet store!

Airport Open House

This was our 3rd time at the airport open house, and I think we'll be there every year! Carter just loves walking around looking at all the airplanes and watching the runway. This was the first year they had an actual air show. In previous years, they just had little private planes taking off. But this year, they had several different planes doing tricks and even a Stealth bomber fly-by, which was amazing. After we hid under a wing to stay dry during a wicked downpour, Evan was excited to take Carter on a helicopter ride this year, and it was exciting for me to watch them :) At one point, Evan pointed at their helicopter flying in to pick them up and Carter squealed and hugged Evan's neck as if he was the happiest boy in the world at that moment! It melted my heart...

Movie in the Park(-ing lot)

Sometimes the last minute plans are the best... Lindsay invited us to see a movie in the parking lot of Parisian with them last week - and we didn't have anything else going on, so we decided to make a night of it (even though we wouldn't get home until after 11pm!). Carter and Merrick are always so excited to see each other! We munched on trail mix and watermelon and enjoyed the company. The kids sat so quietly during the show, and at one point, Carter and Merrick were lying next to each other on the blanket. Carter reached over and rubbed Merrick's belly, much like I do to him. It was so sweet - they are such good friends :)

This is what I get when I ask them to hug for a picture. They can't contain themselves!

Brotherly Love

Carter loves his "Bakey Boy" so, so, so much! He's always asking "But, Mom, where's the baby?" And when I pick him up from school, he runs straight to Blake and hugs/kisses him. He's always telling us "Me and him are friends." And Blake has to sit in the bouncy seat right next to Carter when we sit down to eat. I can't wait to see their relationship evolve into the epitomy of Brotherly Love!

Swimming and Chicken

A trip to Saginaw to swim in Grandma's pool - and a Frankenmuth dinner to celebrate Evan's 30th Birthday

Sterlingfest

We spent an afternoon at Sterlingfest with Auntie Lisa and Katie. Carter started out crabby, crabby, crabby...but as we headed over to the fair, his frown turned upside down. I spent $20 on 20 tickets, $5 on an elephant ear, $5 on lemonade, $3 on a red slush, and $5 on cinnamon almonds...and all that really matters is the smile on Carter's face...

He really thought he was driving this "car" - he kept the steering wheel turned to the left the entire time to keep it going around in a circle.

Carter waited very patiently to give the guy his 3 tickets for another ride on the big slide

Partridge Creek Fountain

Carter and Merrick cooled off one afternoon by running through the fountains at Partridge Creek. My, oh my, did they have fun! I think we had just as much fun watching them :)

Blake had a fantastic time, too!

I don't know why kids do this...but they were still cute :)

Oh, Merrick...

Always running!

Couch Forts

Carter and I decided to be a little bit creative one night last week (while it rained) and we built a fort out of couch cushions and a sheet. We had so much fun pretending to sleep in it - and hiding from Daddy over, and over, and over again. The funniest part for me was when I took the cushions off the couch and said "Oh boy, I guess we need to vacuum under here..." Carter has always LOVED the vacuum and was so quick to say "Ok, I'll get it."

Vacuuming under the cushions.
