Polka-Dotted Baby

Blake was diagnosed with his first ear infection last week on Monday. And after 8 days of antibiotics, he broke out in a head-to-toe rash. Now he's on a hefty dose of Benadryl and can never go near amoxicillin again! Ok, maybe a bit extreme...but the doctor said it's a "pretty extensive allergic reaction." Hopefully it clears quickly. It looks so irritating, but he's a champ!

Thanksgiving

So i'm running a little late on these photos... You know how it is in December - survival mode while you prepare for Christmas, right?? Anyway, enjoy these photos from our Thanksgiving at Auntie Karen and Uncle Cliff's house.

Family photo on Blake's 1st Thanksgiving

Carter approached Chris on the couch and said (in a deep voice) "Hey, Chris! You wanna pway downstairs wif me??"

Playing with Hot Wheels!

This is how Carter carried the cars back

Embracing Winter

Seems like winter came right on cue with December 1st. We're doing our best to embrace it, although we miss being able to play outside all the time. Here's a few pictures of our most recent events :)
Don't worry - I'll fill in some holes over the weekend.

Our living room with the beautiful Christmas tree

Blake (5 months) and Brenna (6 1/2 months)

Carter and Brady at the Township Christmas Tree lighting (we only stayed about 20 minutes b/c we found out that they weren't lighting the tree for another hour and 15 minutes!)

Brenna at her 6 month photo shoot

Carter entered the library's Gingerbread House contest and WON for his category. Obviously, he's so proud - and so are we! He had such a fun time building and decorating it. His hard work paid off, and he won a $20 gift card to Marshalls.

The Circus

We went to the circus earlier this month with our bestest friends :)

2 very happy 3 year olds on the way to The Palace for the circus

Such a pretty elephant

"Zing, Zang, Zooooom"

This is how we spent most of the show. Apparently we have the squishiest laps :) We don't mind a bit!

Since Carter was only one week post-tonsillectomy, he got a $9 snow cone.

Very cool!

As Carter would say, these tigers were "yoaring"

Such a fun evening with great friends! (Brady wasn't happy for this picture!)

More Carter-isms

Me to Carter: "What's for breakfast? I think i'll eat Addison (our cat)."

Carter to me: "No! You can't eat Addie. Then there won't be anymore Addie's. (pause) Hey! I a good idea! (whisper) How 'bout you eat Bwake????"

Carter-isms

I love all the cute stuff Carter says...I call them "Carter-isms." Most recently, I loved his family version of The Color Song...

"There was a farmer had a Mom, and Weesa was her name-o. P-R-E-E-N, P-R-E-E-N, P-R-E-E-N...and Weesa was her name-o. There was a farmer had a baby, and Bwake was his name-o...B-L-A-C-K, B-L-A-C-K, B-L-A-C-K...and Bwake was his name-o. There was a farmer had a Dad, and Evan was nis name-o...T-R-E-E-N, T-R-E-E-N, T-R-E-E-N...and Evan was his name-o. There was a farmer had a boy, and Carter was his name-o...C-A-R-T-E-R, C-A-R-T-E-R-, C-A-R-T-E-R...and Carter was his name-o. And that's the color song!!!"

Tonsil-less Carter

Carter had his tonsils and adenoids removed on Nov 5th, so afterwards, we spent the day snuggling on the couch. He hasn't snored a bit since we've been home from the hospital. He's doing pretty good now - we're giving him pain medication around-the-clock to prevent any pain...and he's eating lots of popsicles, Slurpees, Jell-o, applesauce, and my homemade chicken noodle soup. His voice sounds a little higher, and he's pronouncing things differently...probably just from the swelling and lack of golf ball-and-a-half sized tonsils and adenoids in his throat. He's home from school for the entire week in order to heal and recover. We might be setting up his little Christmas tree a bit early this year...there' only so much you can do inside!

A few random pictures...

We got 7 new windows in our house last week. Here is Carter's room:

I love this kid!

Post-bath smiles :)

Sweet Potatoes for the first time

YUM! Sweet potatoes!

Mr Blake doesn't really like sitting back in his bouncy seat anymore (he pulls himself forward!), so we've made the switch to the highchair. Such a BIG BOY.

Halloween!!

We had a great Halloween season at the Sutton house! We carved pumpkins, had our annual party, plus the Halloween party at school, and of course...we went trick-or-treating. I wish I could upload ALL the pictures...but I'm too impatient. I hope you enjoy these, though!

Post-trick-or-treating...notice the chocolate face

After carving our pumpkins. Carter wanted his pumpkin's eyes to be C's - and I think it looks great! So creative, already!

Gutting the pumpkin...Carter still isn't crazy about this part :)
